Miranda & Associados was recognised as the winner of "Lusophone Africa Law Firm of the Year" in the Chambers Africa Awards 2023, which was announced on 12th January 2023. In the only four editions of this category of the same awards programme - in 2018, 2021, 2022 and now in 2023 - Miranda was the law firm distinguished with this award.

These awards recognise a law firm’s pre-eminence in key jurisdictions in the region. They also reflect achievements over the past 12 months including outstanding work, impressive strategic growth and excellence in client service.

In announcing Miranda as the Lusophone Africa Law Firm of the Year 2023, the Judges noted:

In both countries it is frequently mandated on matters in the mining and petrochemicals sectors – a specific example being its advice to Azura Power on the acquisition of a stake in a gas-fired power project for USD145 million. The firm maintains a substantial team in Lisbon whose combined experience assisting with Africa-related transactions spans several decades. Miranda is additionally noteworthy for its co-ordination of the Miranda Alliance network of independent law firms, through which it is able to offer on-the-ground resources across Lusophone Africa. Many of the network’s members maintain top-tier rankings in their own right.
