Visa Exemption and Simplification of Tourist Visa Procedures
New rules on entry visa exemption and simplification of the tourist visa procedure were approved on 29 September 2023, by means of Presidential Decree No. 189/23, of 29 September 2023, becoming effective on the same date. In sum:
- The exemption covers citizens of the countries listed in the relevant statute and applies to stays of less than 90 days per year. Each entry allows a stay of up to 30 days. If these citizens wish to apply in Angola for work, temporary stay, study, medical treatment visas and residence permits, they must secure first an entry visa (for example, a tourist visa) with the consular or diplomatic mission in their country of origin/residence.
- The tourist visa application may be filed with the competent consular/diplomatic mission or submitted through the Migration Services´ website, along with the applicant´s Passport valid for more than 6 months, round-trip plane ticket, and vaccination certificate (when applicable). In both situations, the visa should be granted within 3 working days.
