BNA Order 17/20, of 3 August 2020, revokes Order 12/19, of 2 December 2019, although most rules remain unchanged for foreign exchange transactions carried out by foreign-exchange resident and non-resident individuals. However, with respect to foreign-exchange non-residents, the Order now extends to the holders of other types of visas (and not only the Work Visa) that allow engagement in a remunerated activity (for example the Privileged Visa), under the Legal Framework for Foreign Citizens in the Republic of Angola (Law 13/19, of 23 May 2019), the possibility of transferring their income out of the Country, provided that they do it from an account opened with a banking institution domiciled in Angola. On the other hand, the Order also determines that foreign-exchange non-resident foreign workers engaged in a remunerated activity in the Country must open a foreign-exchange non-resident account with a local financial institution in which their income must be domiciled.
Order 17/20 enters into force on 3 September 2020.
