The Government recently announced that all legal entities incorporated/registered prior to the enactment of the Commercial Code – Decree-Law No. 1/2022, of 25 May 2022 – and the Regulations of Legal Entities Registry Office – Decree-Law No. 1/2024, of 8 March 2024 – are required to complete the registration of the beneficial owner until 7 June 2024.

This requirement applies to the following entities: (i) companies, (ii) associations, (iii) foundations, (iv) religious entities, and (v) branches.

The Statement for registration of the beneficial owner must be submitted through the Registry & Notary website – www.utente.srn.gov.mz - or by completing a specific form available at the Legal Entities Registry Office. 
 
Failure to meet the applicable deadline and/or the provision of false information prevents the relevant entities from carrying out further procedures with the Legal Entities Registry Office and/or is subject to the payment of fines.
