Following Law No. 15/2017, of 3 May 2017, which established the prohibition of the issuance of bearer securities, Decree-Law No. 81-B/2017, of 7 July 2017, clarified that the prohibition of said securities does not apply to the State’s direct public debt.

This Decree-Law came into force on 8 July 2017 and has retroactive effect to 4 May 2017.
