Project on Simplification of Public Administration Procedures Approved

With a view to continuing with the State Reform Program and with the implementation of measures aimed at modernizing, de-bureaucratizing and streamlining public services, the Simplification of Public Administration Procedures Project (“SPAP Project”) was approved by means of Presidential Decree No. 161/21, of 21 June 2021.

 

The concrete simplification measures included in the SPAP Project aim at achieving an ambitious set of objectives, notably the following:

  • The integration of various procedures and/or services;
  • The elimination of various requirements and procedural formalities;
  • The merging of various legal and regulatory documents relating to identical and interdisciplinary matters;
  • The lengthening of the period of validity of various documents and licenses;
  • The discontinuation of the issuance of and/or requirement for various documents.

 

The measures included in the SPAP Project cover sectors of activity as diverse as Oil & Gas, Electricity, Transport and Real Estate, as well as procedures for obtaining visas, the issuance of land titles, the licensing of pharmaceutical activities, and the managing of waste, among others.

 

Under Presidential Decree No. 161/21, the SPAP Project is to be constantly and periodically updated with additional measures and actions; this will happen once or twice a year, depending on its degree of implementation.

 

The SPAP Project entered into force on 21 June 2021.
