National Bank of Angola Order 08/19, of 6 November 2019, which came into force on the same day, amended the terms and conditions under which Currency Exchanges are to operate.
With the entry into force of this Order, embassies and/or consulates will now be able to sell foreign currency notes or travelers checks to Currency Exchanges.
The Order eliminated the prohibition of exchange rates and commissions, including expenses and other charges, imposed by Currency Exchanges on sale transactions to their clients, exceeding in 10% the reference exchange rate published on BNA's institutional website.
The Order also stipulated that Currency Exchanges should record their operations in accordance with the Chart of Accounts of Non-Banking Financial Institutions.
