The recently-enacted Decree-Law No. 8/2016, of 15 November 2016, which has just been made public, provides for new requirements applicable to insurance and reinsurance intermediation business. The statute regulates the activities carried out by insurance and reinsurance agents, promoters and brokers and it aims to develop the insurance business activities sector and fostering the insurance market.
