Executive Decree No. 273/17, of 3 May 2017, enacted new rules on the model for registration of securities with the issuing authority. The securities may now be registered in paper support or electronic format, provided that certain legal requirements are met.

The Executive Decree was enacted pursuant to Law No. 22/15, of 31 August 2015, which approved the new Securities Code and repealed article 37 of the Companies Law that established the obligation for joint-stock companies to have a register book of shares.

The new model is mandatory for registration of securities issued after 3 May 2017.
