New Limit on Cross-Border Bank Transfers
Through Notice No. 4/26, of 25 May 2026, the National Bank of Angola (“BNA”) has revised the framework governing foreign exchange transactions by individuals, in response to current geopolitical pressures affecting the international environment.
The amendment is limited in scope and does not alter the fundamental structure of the regime established by Notice No. 3/23, of 9 March 2023. It introduces a reduction in the annual cap applicable to unilateral transfers, which is lowered from USD 250,000 to USD 150,000 per ordering customer.
The Notice became effective upon publication.
