The National Agency for Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels (Agência Nacional do Petróleo, Gás e Biocombustíveis, “ANPG”), the National Concessionaire for the Angolan petroleum sector, recently announced that a new licensing round for petroleum concessions will be launched on 30 April 2021.

Nine petroleum concessions in the onshore Lower Congo and Kwanza Basins will be put on offer: Blocks CON1, CON5 and CON6 (in the Lower Congo Basin), and KON5, KON6, KON8, KON9, KON17 and KON20 (in the Kwanza Basin).
 
Participation in the tender is subject to an entry fee in the amount of USD 1,000,000 for access to the basins’ data package.
 
The proposals must be submitted by 9 June 2021, being the bid opening ceremony scheduled for the following day.
 
The dates and location of the roadshows are expected to be disclosed shortly by ANPG.
