On July 17, Presidential Decree No. 152/24 of July 17 was published and came into force, approving an increase in the National Minimum Wage under the following terms:

• The amount of AOA 70,000.00 is set as the minimum sum of all income that must be paid in consideration for work performed or services rendered during the period of a given month;
• 12 months after the entry into force of this statute, i.e. 16 September 2025, the amount of the national minimum wage will increase to AOA 100,000.00;
• For micro-companies and start-ups, AOA 50,000.00 is set as the minimum wage;
• If companies do not have financial capacity to support the amount set here and now, they may request authorization from the Ministerial Department responsible for the Labour Sector to temporarily practice salaries below the defined level and therefore must prove their precarious financial situation.
