Extinction of Inavic and entry into operation of National Civil Aviation Authority

With the National Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC) having been created by Law No. 14/19, of 23 May 2019 (Civil Aviation Law), Presidential Decree No. 237/21, of 23 September 2021, extinguished the National Civil Aviation Institute (INAVIC).

Transferred to ANAC are INAVIC’s attributes and competencies, as well as its powers of revocation, approval and publication of administrative, financial and regulatory acts, and its personnel, except those attributes and competencies which, due to their very nature, are incompatible with ANAC’s status as an independent administrative entity. ANAC succeeds INAVIC in the holding of all legal, conventional, administrative or contractual rights and duties within its legal sphere.

All legislation that contradicts this Presidential Decree has been repealed and the Presidential Decree entered into force on the date of its publication.
