By means of Instruction No. 18/2018, of 28 November 2018, which entered into force on 29 November 2018, the National Bank of Angola established the rules to be observed by Commercial Banks in the conversion to national currency of credits granted to individuals in foreign currency.

For this purpose, Commercial Banks must inform the relevant customers of the abovementioned possibility by presenting the applicable terms and conditions as well as the amount of the each installment, the applicable interest rate and the corresponding term.

Banks whose foreign exchange position does not allow them to cover the sale of foreign currency must include on their needs map (mapa de necessidades) the amounts necessary for such conversion. The National Bank of Angola will then be responsible for selling the foreign currency for the purpose in question.
