It was recently published the Decree No. 33/2019, of 18 November 2019, which enacted the Internal Regulations for the Computerizing of Real Estate Registration, with a view to strengthening the certainty and security in legal trading.

The regulations covers, among others, the following aspects:

• All acts subject to registration can be submitted to the Integrated Property Registry System;
• The tax and real estate registration must be consistent, except when there is a difference between descriptions that does not exceed 5% in relation to the larger area of the property not registered, 15% in rustic properties and 10% in urban properties, whichever is the area in the matrix
•  The possessor of a non-registered property can apply for the respective registration based on documentary elements; and
• Women's right to register their real estate property is reaffirmed.
