Miranda Alliance Announces Côte d’Ivoire Opening

The Miranda Alliance has announced the addition of a new member office in Côte d’Ivoire further reinforcing the Alliance’s commitment to Francophone Africa and continuing its local reach to eleven African jurisdictions.

Through an association with CDI COUNSEL, one of Côte d’Ivoire’s dynamic young law firms, the Miranda Alliance will offer a full service to its international clients, bringing local expertise particularly in the natural resources and agriculture sectors, alongside wider corporate, tax, commercial (including OHADA), employment, regulatory and dispute resolution know how.

CDI COUNSEL has its headquarters in the Côte d’Ivoire’s main commercial centre Abidjan but services clients across the country.

For Diogo Xavier da Cunha, Miranda’s Managing Partner, the founding member of the Miranda Alliance, the opening in Côte d’Ivoire is the result of client-led expansion and calls from several member firms, and further reinforces the Miranda Alliance firms’ expertise and commitment to Sub-Saharan Africa.

Côte d’Ivoire presents a unique opportunity and is a natural extension of our current Africa capabilities. We have been assisting clients in Côte d’Ivoire for a number of years and the addition of CDI COUNSEL merely underlines what is in reality an increasing commitment to the country and the region as a whole.

The growth we are experiencing in Sub-Saharan Africa is underwritten by the expansion of a number of major clients who see growth in Côte d’Ivoire as a means to diversify their regional investment portfolios. They have told us they want to capitalise on the ability of the Miranda Alliance to offer dedicated local expertise but with international standards of service and oversight. Since announcing the opening to our clients over this past week we have had multiple enquiries, which bodes well not only for us but for the prospect of further investment in the Côte d’Ivoire economy as a whole”.

Since 2010, the Miranda Alliance has undertaken careful expansion from its market-leading Lusophone roots into a number of key Francophone jurisdictions through partnerships with leading local law firms. The Francophone offering of the network currently extends to Republic of the Congo (CABINET GOMES), Democratic Republic of the Congo (MBM-CONSEIL), Cameroon (ABENG LAW FIRM), Gabon (CABINET NGUIA) and now Côte d’Ivoire (CDI COUNSEL), which local expertise is reinforced by the Alliance’s liaison office member in France.
